The first Sunday in Advent is the beginning of the church year. It heralds the weeks before Christmas when we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Saviour.
It is true; ..... Jesus is coming, ..... He's coming again! But unlike the first time He came to earth, as a tiny baby born in humble surroundings, when Jesus returns He will come in glory, in full majesty, as Judge and King.
During the four weeks of Advent there is much preparation underway as we get ready for our Christmas celebrations. The preparation we need to undergo as we await Christ's second coming is to welcome Him into our hearts, trust in His perfect timing and believe in His work of salvation.
But knowing Jesus, ... really knowing Him as our truest friend, ... understanding and believing that He died for each and every one of us, ... will only happen when we become familiar with His Word. To gain confidence in what awaits us when we leave this earth will only happen with faith and this comes through God's grace and belief in His Son. We study the Word of God and gain a deeper understanding of God's love and mercy every Sunday and through various Bible study opportunities during the week.
You are welcome to come and learn more about what God's Son has done for you. Join us as we worship Him in grateful praise. (Service times below.)
